The University of Iowa’s CARD study looks at what shapes whether teens and young adults drink and run into problems with alcohol. People aged 14–19 can earn up to $500 across all phases. Lab visits are held in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids.

Parents of 14–17-year-olds are asked to let their teen complete the anonymous eligibility questionnaire in private. The study involves three roughly four-hour lab visits over 30 months plus online questionnaires and tasks, with travel paid for families within two hours. Start with the eligibility check on the study page.
