About Fieldwork
Fieldwork operates a national network of focus group facilities in the United States. Founded in 1980, it grew from a single research suite into a national company that recruits participants, hosts sessions in its own offices and manages qualitative projects for brands, agencies and law firms. Alongside standard focus groups, it handles mock jury research and medical device testing.
Fieldwork Locations
The company runs facilities in or near Atlanta, Boston, Chicago (downtown and suburbs), Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, New York City, Northern New Jersey (Fort Lee), Orange County (Irvine), Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle, plus dedicated medical simulation centers. It also runs virtual projects, and people who do not live near an office can join its national database for phone and online studies. Many of the recent listings on our site are online and open nationwide.
How to Join Fieldwork Studies
- Register through the participant registration page and pick the office closest to you, or the national database.
- Complete your full profile, including the optional extra details, because fuller profiles are matched to more studies.
- Answer the screener when you are contacted by email or phone about a project.
- Show up on time for your session, in person or online.
You can also apply to the open listings on this page.
How Much Does Fieldwork Pay?
Recent studies on our site have mostly paid between $100 and $375 for topics like groceries, cars, technology and fitness apps, and the top payout we have listed is $800. Rewards most often arrive as an online prepaid incentive within about two weeks. If yours is late, the company asks you to contact its respondent team with your study details. Participants are treated as independent contractors, not employees.

Is Fieldwork Legit?
Yes. It has operated for more than four decades and has offices in many major cities. Be aware that scammers sometimes pretend to be Fieldwork: the company does not recruit mystery shoppers and will never send you a check and ask you to buy gift cards or crypto. FindPaidFocusGroup.com only lists companies that never charge participants a fee to join or take part, so treat any request for payment as a red flag.
